Paint chip samples and swatches are helpful when considering color options for a home painting project. They are available at home improvement stores in an array of shapes, colors, and sizes to help choose what color is best for the project.

The best part about paint chip samples and swatches they are FREE! There really isn’t a rule to how many swatches you can help yourself to, but by taking handfuls some may feel guilty. So each time you stop off, just take a few or whatever COLOR you are feeling for that day.

If you have a lot of paint chip samples on hand you can use them in a crafty way as decor for your home.

Here are some pictures I discovered online of CRAFTY ways others have used their leftover chips:

Create a Tree using the swatches as the leafs

Sew and patchwork swatches together into a wallet

Disney makes Mickey shaped swatches! This is great for a child’s “Memory Game”

Seeing the horrible aftermath footage and stories of the earthquake in Haiti, it got me thinking that this could happen anywhere anytime. Truly sad that it happened to our friends in Haiti, but very thankful that I am alive and it didn’t happen here in the states.

I know back when the Y2K thing was a big hit, people were building disaster kits because they thought the year 2000 was the end of the world. I didn’t and still dont really believe in that hoo-hah. But I DO think it is important to have a family disaster kit ready regardless of what year it is or what astrology magazine says is the next “big year” of the world ending.

Here are some places a Family Disaster Kit is helpful/recommended:

In your HOME: In case of a natural disaster you can rely on your own kit to survive until help arrives

In your CAR: If you are stranded on the side of the road, you have supplies in case someone is injured

At your JOB: Each employer has their own standards of what they think should be in a First Aid Kit, bring your own so you know what you have available

Spice up your palette with homemade Jalapeño Poppers! The Jalapeño Poppers you may know of are the spicy bites on the appetizer menu at your favorite burger joint, but Jalapeño Poppers can easily be created at home as mild or spicy as you desire.
GREAT SUPERBOWL SNACK!! Add a new twist to a spicy favorite by cooking your poppers over the grill. Roasted Jalapeños are infused with a subtle smoky flavor over the flames and make an excellent appetizer or side to your barbecue.

There are many options to cook and prepare these mini bites:

1- Fill with cream cheese

2- Fill with cheddar cheese

3- wrap in bacon

4- Bread them and deep fry

5- Bake

6- Grill

Below are 3 Jalapeño Poppers recipes I found online, click the image or link to see the full recipe.
