Pomegranate Feta Burgers

This burger sounds so delicious! A mixture of tangy mixture using lamb as the choice of meat with the right balance of sweet and salty toppings! This recipe was featured on today’s Rachel Ray Show as well as in the Rachel Ray magazine (Everyday with Rachel Ray) created by one of the show’s viewers! Unique created with pomegranate seeds and tangy feta cheese.

Ingredients:

8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
Grated peel of 1 lemon, plus 2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound ground lamb
1 small pomegranate (about 8 ounces), seeds extracted
3 cups arugula
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint, plus whole leaves for garnish
Salt
4 hamburger buns, toasted
1 small red onion, thinly sliced

Directions:

1. Preheat a grill pan over medium heat. In a small bowl, mash three-quarters of the feta, the lemon peel and 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil.
2. In a medium bowl, combine the lamb with 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds and the remaining feta. Shape into 4 patties. Grease the grill pan with 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil, add the burgers and cook, turning once, for 8 minutes for medium. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
3. Meanwhile, in a bowl, toss the arugula with the chopped mint, the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and the lemon juice; season with salt.
4. Spread the bun bottoms with the feta mixture. Press the remaining pomegranate seeds into the cheese. Top with the burgers, red onion, arugula salad, whole mint leaves and bun tops.

Easter Sting Eggs are a spin off the traditions hard sugar decorative Easter Egg. Easter String Eggs are an Easter craft decoration that are hallow, egg-shaped ornaments made completely of string!

Project From: Crafty Art World

Supplies Needed:
2 cups water
2 cups sugar or liquid
starch
Pastel embroidery thread colors
1 can of clear spray paint
1 bag of balloons
1 old newspaper

Directions:
1. Cover a large area with
newspaper. This is a messy
Easter craft and the newspaper
will allow for easy cleanup.

2. Mix the water and sugar in a
pan, boil, cool, and poor into a bowl. Place the bowl in the
center of the newspaper. The
sugar is similar to glue in this
project. If you find that the string
is not sticking to the balloon, add
more sugar.

3. Blow up the balloons to be
as egg shaped as possible.

4. Dip one embroidery thread in
the sugar water and lay it across
the balloon. Repeat with a new
color, making sure to overlap the
threads in some areas. Cover
your balloon with these threads in
an artistic tangle.

5. Let dry over night. (typically
these dry best when hung from a
hanger)

6. Gently push in the balloon to
un-stick the threads. Pop the
balloon and pull it out (this is also
messy, so do so over a sink).

7. Spray the Sugar Egg with
clear paint to prevent ants.
Hang or display as desired!

March is here which means we are months closer to SPRING! My cherry blossom tree in my front yard is already blooming, the blooms are so beautiful and have such a lovely scent when the sun comes out and carries it though with the wind.

25 Unexpected Items You Can Put In Your Dishwasher

The dishwasher is a kitchen’s greatest convenience for cleaning and sterilizing dirty dishes and utensils. Think outside the box and when you have something around the house you really want to get clean that the clothes washer just doesn’t do the job, try popping it in a dishwash cycle. A dishwasher’s water temperature reaches 155° F to kill bacteria, so crank the water to hot (many dishwashers have a “sterilization mode” or cycle, which is necessary to ensure the water is heated high enough to kill bacteria). Placing items in the dishwasher which you wouldn’t normally find there will free up your time while cleaning items more effectively than by hand.

Keep in mind you want to run your dishes and household items in separate loads, food can get stuck in material and possibly stain.
